Xiaomi has cited us for January 10 to present Redmi as an independent brand of Xiaomi, as well as Honor and Huawei, and in passing announce a new Redmi terminal. Although we are not totally sure of how it will end up being called, several of its features and even some photos have already been filtered.
The teaser for the new Redmi terminal only gave us the clue that it would contain a 48 MP camera, but in recent days videos, the official poster and other details have been filtered through the TENAA certifications. It could be the next Redmi Note 7, although the name Redmi Pro 2 also sounds.
Hard glass to crack, notch in drop and 48 MP camera
The first of the leaks is this video that seems to be a small teaser or fragment of a review, in which a group of people tramples the phone without mercy but … surprise: this does not suffer the least damage after this inhuman abuse.
Although it is the first time we can see the terminal live, the truth is that the moments in which the terminal is appreciated are so minimal that it hardly gives time to appreciate it. By the way, do not take these demonstrations of hardness very seriously and, of course, do not do the test with yours if you finally get one when it is announced. It is the magic of the TV promotional videos. Although the movement in the video
happens so fast that you can hardly appreciate the terminal, the design agrees with the one of the following filtered promotional poster. Here you can see in quite detail the front design with notch in the form of drop and double back camera. You can hardly see it, but if you zoom in CSI style, in the rear camera it gets 48 MP. Of course, you do not need to zoom when you explain it in a big text that does not go into much more detail either. Cry an ultra 48-megapixel camera, with “four times more pixels.” Below is the conference on January 10th.
But wait, there’s more. An alleged Redmi Note 7 has been sighted in GeekBench with Snapdragon 660, 6 GB of RAM and Android 9. This is a problem, as Snapdragon 660 supports cameras with a maximum of 25 MP, so it would be insufficient to control the 48 MP lens of this terminal. So, either the benchmark is wrong or the Redmi with 48 MP would not be the Redmi Note 7 but another, maybe the Redmi Pro 2.
As if this were not enough, in the TENAA Chinese certification we have information from Redmi 7 and Redmi Note 7, although we still do not know which of the two is the one with the 48 MP camera and will be announced next Thursday. The best thing will be to wait to leave doubts.
