The Xiaomi Mi Play had been watching behind the scenes for some time, one of the last phones of Xiaomi for this year, if not the last one for the dates in which we are. While European families are preparing Christmas Eve, Xiaomi has huddled her followers and journalists in a shopping mall in her home and has unveiled her new phone.
We thought, by the name, that it would be some kind of response to other mobile gaming of the competition, perhaps mobile phones despite having already the brand with the Black Shark, but nothing is further from reality. The Xiaomi Play is a new phone of economic line, one that, based on the comparison, comes to jump the neck of Honor 9i, his compatriot and competitor. Let’s see what he has to offer.
Xiaomi Mi Play datasheet
FullHD + 19: 9
Helio P35 at 2.3GHz
3.060 mAh + fast charge
An economic line with Honor 9i in focus
Honor presented its new phone last June, and now Xiaomi launches a full-fledged countermeasure, a phone that in the presentation itself has been compared to the Honor model and the one that beats, at least in origin, in price. Not all features, but certainly your agreement with China Mobile, including 10GB of mobile data with the purchase, can be a good point of sale.
The model of Xiaomi lands with a panel of 5.84 inches with ‘notch’ in the shape of a drop of water, giving the screen a resolution of 19: 9, and with frames, although reduced. We are talking about an economic model and we can not work miracles at this point. Inside, 3,000 mAh battery apparently without fast charging.
5.84 inches, Helio P35, 4GB, 64GB, 12 and 2 megapixels, 3,000 mAh for the Honor Play
As for the processor, we find the new Helio P35, a mid-range chip from MediaTek that debuts its eight cores at 2.3GHz on board the Xiaomi model. A chip built in 12 nanometers and that is accompanied by 4GB in RAM and 64GB in internal storage. Nothing the manufacturer mentioned about the microSD.
For the photographic section we have a double camera on the back and a simple one on the front. The dual has a main sensor of 12 megapixels, with pixels of 1.25 microns, and another secondary of 2 megapixels intended for reading depth. As for the selfies, 8 megapixels.
A modest phone in power but aggressive in price, as we will see below, and that has the basic connectivity of a model in this 2018. We have 4G, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and headphone jack.
Versions and prices of Xiaomi Play
The Xiaomi Play debuts in his country and for now will stay there, although it could have an answer in the form of a Redmi model once it crosses its borders. What we do know is that it reaches China at a price of 1,099 yuan, which we can translate for around 140 euros at the current exchange rate. An aggressive price that we will see if it works, although as we mentioned, its attraction is in the data bonus with local operators.
